Yankee Run Nature Preserve

History

The 63-acre Yankee Run Preserve was acquired in 2011. The acquisition was funded by the Monroe County Open Space Program and PA DCNR. The preserve provides crucial protection for the headwaters of Yankee Run, a high quality headwater to the Paradise Creek. The habitat mix of woodlands, springs, ponds and riparian headwater stream area combined with the protection of the scenic Route 940 drive from Mt Pocono. It also has a Springhouse, Historic Pumphouse and a Spring pond.
