Nature's Beauty by Elaine Madere
The Gallery at Brodhead Creek Heritage Center will be open to the public for the exhibit's opening reception from 1 to 4 PM on Saturday, July 31. Visitors may enjoy light refreshments and are invited to explore the ForEvergreen Nature Preserve on the property. Paintings will be for sale during the event.
Prices are as marked with 6% sales tax.
20% of sales will be donated to Pocono Heritage Land Trust.
About the artist:
PHLT Board Member Elaine Madere
The Pocono Pines artist, who grew up in the lush bayou country of Louisiana, was taught by her artist father to appreciate the beauty of nature. She uses oil and acrylic, in a realistic style, to capture the natural beauty of the Poconos. In addition to painting scenes of Lake Naomi where she lives in the woods, Madere also paints scenes of nature from her travels around the country and the world.
Only after she retired from a long career in telecommunications and information technology did Madere pursue her life-long interest in painting. Hailing from a family of successful artists, Madere always wanted to paint and knew there was an artist trapped deep down in her soul. However, she doubted her abilities, and battled time constraints of work and family life, so she never attempted painting. When she retired, a friend persuaded her to pick up a brush and take lessons. She has been painting ever since. Madere paints from nature but also takes commissions to paint pets, houses, and favorite landscapes and beach scenes.
Exhibit will be on display through the end of August 2021.
