Robert Baxter
PHLT Founder and Board Member
Rob is a 4th generation Pocono resident and a second generation Pocono real estate broker. In the late 1800’s Rob's great grandfather and his brother bought several hundred acres in what is now Pocono Pines to protect the towering pines and the streams they came from Easton to fish. In 1895 they formed the Pocono Pines Ice Company and commenced building Lake Naomi to harvest ice and supply the iceboxes in New York city with ice.
Rob credits his grandmother’s landscape painting pastime and growing up around Lake Naomi for sparking his love of the outdoors. Today he continues a 40+ year real estate career from the Keller Williams Real Estate office in Pocono Pines he helped launch in 2012. Rob was also a founding member of the Tobyhanna Creek/Tunkhannock Creek Watershed Association and served on the Tobyhanna Township Planning Commission until he moved to Chestnuthill township. He currently serves on the Monroe County Planning Commission and as an alternate on the Chestnuthill/Jackson/Eldred/Ross/Pocono Township Regional Planning Commission. Rob currently chairs the Acquisition Committee of PHLT.
Rob’s personal interests include lots of outdoor activities in the woods and around fresh and salt water. He loves dogs, travel, photography, skiing, and all kinds of music. He lives on a farm in Effort with his wife Mary and her growing herd of alpaca.
